The sun is rising. And honestly, I’m taking the day off to go to a massive lake in the mountains.

If it was any other Monday, here’s my morning to-do list as the CMO and Head of Product for Penfriend.

Check last week’s work

I crack open last week’s post-mortem in Coda for the team, and my own personal work in Obsidian.

What I’m looking for is what got done, what’s being done and what got missed.

Analytics

I take a quick look at the site numbers. Traffic. Click throughs. What moved when we prodded things?

Mostly I wanna know what to cut and what to double down on. Right now the newsletter is killing it (thank you thank you), so I’m playing with some ideas to make this even more fun for everyone.

My Inbox is the product roadmap

The replies I get from everyone are the cheat codes to what we should be building next.

When I have a problem, and three other CMO’s groan about the same pain - baby, that’s free R&D.

I’ll grab a couple hours in the week to see if there’s a good fix to it before I send anything to the devs.

90 mins to a clear week

30 mins on each check and I have a clear runway for the week.
And an excuse to get another coffee.

Now… lake time :D
