A quick one from me today. We’re jumping into a huge sprint over here at Penfriend. So you’ll be seeing a lot of us in all the places. But that means I have a lot to plan.

First up I just want to say thank you. Thank you to everyone reading. It’s day 20/100. And the feedback has been amazing. I’m loving writing these every day. And hearing how it’s helping you is amazing.

From just thank you’s to advice back, new recommendations and people literally telling me that the 20 hours I put into the new nav bar on Penfriend was for nothing because I’d f*cked it up….

Honestly, thank you.

Dumb Great things I found over the weekend

This is a new and fast section, and might be one my favourites. But it’s dumb things I found on the internet over the weekend. All helpful. Maybe.

  1.  My favourite LLM is Claude. We use it for all the writing with Penny. Frankly, it’s just better. And they dropped 3.7 the other week. It’s great. But, do you wanna know how they benchmark it to know if it’s better?

    They let it play Pokémon. They benchmark it by seeing how far it gets into Pokémon Red.

    Anyone that knows me will tell you I love Pokémon. I’m 34. I wrote my dissertation on Pokémon. It’s not a phase Dad.


  2. I should have known about this earlier. I did a degree in Animation, and have studied art most of my academic life. Of course art loses copyright eventually.

    What I didn’t know was that there is a place where you can see everything that fell into the public domain every year.

    AND YES! That does mean you can use it. All of it. For anything you want. anything
    I’m looking forward to the blog that just has these amazing artworks as the featured images for no reason other than vibes.
