Bookmark or regret: the 6 evergreen posts that outlive every algorithm.

Why they work without SEO, mini blueprints, and a 15-min shortcut.

Day 161/100

Hey—It's Tim.

Let’s pretend SEO never existed.
I’d still tell you to write. Here’s what you’re making.

The Origin Story

What it is. Your “why we exist” told like a Netflix pilot.
Why. Humans invest in companies the same way they invest in characters.
Why it works without SEO. A memorable back-story turns customers into evangelists and employees into missionaries.

Mini template

  • Cold-open with the inciting disaster

  • The scrappy build phase (photos, screenshots, receipts)

  • First proof-point & where you’re heading next

It’s not actually about you. It’s about the problem you’re solving and why no-one else has managed to do it justice. So you HAD to do it.

The Proprietary Data Drop

What it is. A concise report built from numbers only you can access.
Why. Data makes you the reference, not the riff.
Why it works without SEO. Charts migrate across Slack, decks, and podcasts—bringing your brand with them.

Mini template

  • Plain-English methodology (“We analysed 4.2M email subject lines…”)

  • Three headline findings with a chart each

  • “So what?” cheat-sheet for practitioners

You can gather the data from questionnaires, from users, from your own data. Just make sure it’s yours. If you wanna know how I would build this type of article, lemme know. I’ll break it down for you.

The Zero-Click Field Guide

What it is. One page that answers the industry’s most-asked question so well it gets screenshot.
Why. Attention often ends where the answer appears; own that moment.
Why it works without SEO. Social shares and inbox forwards ignore search rankings entirely.

Mini template

  • One-sentence definition + contextual GIF

  • Fast-facts checklist for skimmers

  • Step-by-step how-to with annotated screenshots

  • Tiny FAQ at the end

The nice thing about this one is it’s easy to update. Any time a new question comes around, just throw an answer in there. Better yet, record a video of you answering it and use that.

The Live Experiment

What it is. A blow-by-blow case study of you testing an idea in public.
Why. Real numbers beat polished promises.
Why it works without SEO. People bookmark progress stories to steal the playbook later.

Mini template

  • Initial pain-point & success metric

  • Hypothesis + setup costs

  • Week-by-week results graph

  • Post-mortem: what you’d change next time

The main thing here is to show you’re innovating. We have this idea and we’re testing this.
Honestly, the result isn’t even the point. It’s the fact you’re testing things.

The Opinionated Framework

What it is. A visual lens (matrix, ladder, flywheel) that simplifies a messy topic.
Why. Frameworks become mental shortcuts; people cite them by name. Give it a name.
Why it works without SEO. People relate to stories. Not buzzwords. So if you can frame something in their language you win.

Mini template

  • Declare what the old model gets wrong

  • Introduce your diagram and label each part

  • Walk through one relatable use-case

  • Quick reference summary table

Give it a name. Make it yours. Talk about it often.

The Tool-Stack Breakdown

What it is. A transparent list of the software, gear, and workflows you actually use.
Why. Curated shortcuts build trust and community faster than abstract advice.
Why it works without SEO. Readers pass the list around internal Slack channels to justify budgets - and your links tag along.

Mini template

  • Role & context (“Solo content lead at Series-A SaaS…”)

  • Table: Need → Tool → Cost → Why it wins

  • Budget/enterprise swap-outs

  • Closing tip on stack maintenance cadence

Give them away. Don’t gatekeep this. Just give it away.
It’s a great place to build relationships with the tool makers themselves.
(Hint hint, for those using Penfriend, lemme know. I wanna say hi ;D)
