How to rank in Google š„
By becoming a topical authority
Hi Penfriends,
You need 2 things to rank in Google:
High quality content
And lots of it
A few months ago we put 400-ish articles onto the Penfriend blog using the first version of Penfriend.
Hereās how thatās turning outā¦
The graph is going up and to the right just like we want it to.
Thereās so much more to do to the blog:
Put the articles through Penfriend v.2 (itās that much better)
Add internal links to the articles (8 minimum per article)
Add downloadable assets to articles (templates, checklists etc)
Fill in the content gaps (a blog is never done š)
Actually that last one is super important becauseā¦
ā¦a blog is never done. And thatās great news because you just need to start somewhere.
Weāre coining the term āminimum viable contentā, and itās what Penfriend generates.
Itās in no way the perfect article but if you wait to write perfect articles, āthe blogā will stay on your to-do list for years.
One potential client has had it on her to-do list for 7 yearsā¦
It might take another 7 years to write 70 perrrrfect articles. But honestly, whatās more likely is that none get written because itās too big a job. And then the procrastination part of your brain convinces you that some other idea with a short term payoff is a better use of your time.
āIāll just pay for adsā¦ā
āIāll just post on social every dayā¦ā
āIāll rely on word of mouthā¦ā
The best time to start a blog?
Yesterday. The second best time? Today.
Because it doesnāt always take 6 months to see results.
(Isnāt it weird how itās always the agency on the monthly retainer with that advice..?)
In fact, our record is page 1 in 11 hours. Thatās a raw article straight out of Penfriend, no backlinks, no internal links, just supported by 399 other articles.
We havenāt touched it and now that article is the number 1 organic result in Google ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Remember, a blog is an army of soldier articles all working together. They arenāt snipers.
And if you want us to do it all for youā¦

FAQs
Can I do more than 150 articles?
Yes, some clients have chosen 300 and 450 articles
Can I do less than 150 articles?
Yes, but we donāt recommend it. We usually see things pick up between 100 and 150 articles.
How long is the process?
Itāll take between 4 to 6 weeks. We like to under promise and over deliver so itās more likely to be nearer the 4 weeks, but have 6 weeks in mind.
Will Google penalise me for publishing 450 articles at once?
No. weāve published nearly 400 articles in one week on the Penfriend blog and nothing bad happened. 450 in Googleās eyes is nothing. But people have tried to publish thousands of crappy AI articles per day and thatās what gets you into trouble.
Will Google penalise me for AI content?
Itās less about whether the content is generated by AI or not, and more about whether the content is useful for readers. Most AI generated articles are trash. The ones Penfriend crafts are high quality.
