They don't want you to know: 5 ways to skip the AI indexing queue

While everyone else waits weeks for AI crawlers, these proven methods are quietly getting content indexed in days

First things first. Anthropic just dropped Claude Sonnet 3.7. We updated our dev build of Penny to the new update. I’ll drop some of the tests in tomorrow’s email and see what people think, but on first impressions, it’s looking pretty good. I wanna get this pushed to production for everyone to use ASAP

Look, we all want our content to get picked up faster by the big AI systems like ChatGPT and Claude. While I can't promise same-day inclusion in their training data (and anyone who does is selling snake oil), I've been testing some approaches that genuinely seem to speed things up.

This is a chonky one, grab a coffee for this one.

Here are five sneaky tactics that might just give your content the edge:

1. Split Your Sitemaps Like a Pro

Most sites dump everything into one massive sitemap file. Rookie mistake! Break them up by content type instead:

  • /sitemap-posts.xml

  • /sitemap-products.xml

  • /sitemap-pages.xml

How to actually do this:

  • If you're on WordPress, plugins like Rank Math Pro handle this automatically

  • For custom sites, XML Sitemaps Generator (xmgsitemaps.com) lets you create multiple sitemaps with different rules

  • Using Shopify? Install the "Better SEO" app which supports multiple sitemap types

And for the love of all things SEO, make sure those "last modified" dates are accurate. This simple change cut indexing time by more than a third in my tests!

2. Structure Like You Mean It

I'm not just talking H1, H2, H3 tags (though yes, use those properly). I mean adding those logical transition phrases that connect ideas:

  • "Let's explore this further..."

  • "Building on that concept..."

  • "This leads us to an important point..."

How to implement better structure:

  • Use a content outline tool like Clearscope or SurferSEO to identify logical section breaks

  • Try the "heading completion" feature in newer AI writing tools to suggest proper headings

  • When editing, read your content out loud - if it sounds choppy, machines will think so too

Why? Because both search engines and AI systems follow these breadcrumbs to understand your content flow. The easier you make it for machines to "read," the faster they'll process it.

3. Basic Schema Markup (Don't Overthink It)

You don't need a PhD in schema.org to get this right. Focus on the fundamentals:

  • Article or BlogPosting type

  • Accurate author information

  • Properly tagged dates

How to implement this without coding:

  • For WordPress users: Again, Rank Math handles this beautifully

  • For other platforms: Schema App or Schema Pro plugins make this point-and-click simple

  • If you're using Webflow, check out Finsweet's attributes for adding schema without code

  • Test your schema with Google's Rich Results Test to make sure it's valid: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results

I've seen sites get way too fancy with schema and actually slow down their crawl rate. Keep it simple, make it accurate.

4. The Authority Hack

If you can get mentioned by (or publish on) sites with high domain authority, DO IT. These sites get crawled more frequently, which means your content gets discovered faster.

How to get those authority mentions:

  • Get on that Featured grind.iykyk

  • Target guest posts on industry-specific sites like SearchEngineJournal for SEO or MarketingProfs for marketing

  • Reverse-engineer your competitors' backlinks with Ahrefs or SEMrush to identify realistic targets

  • Prioritize sites that publish frequently - they get crawled way more often than static sites

Even better? A mention on a high-authority site that updates frequently, like a news site or popular blog with daily posts. These get absolutely hammered by crawlers.

5. The Triple Spike Share Method

Instead of sharing your content once and calling it a day, try this pattern:

  • Initial share at publication

  • Second share about 45 minutes later

  • Third share approximately 2 hours after that

How to make this actually work:

  • Don't just repeat the same message! For each spike, highlight a different angle or insight from your content

  • Use tools like Buffer or Hootsuite to schedule all three shares at once

  • For the second and third shares, try different formats: a quote graphic, a stat, or a question related to your content

  • Mix up the platforms - maybe LinkedIn first, then Twitter, then a niche community where your audience hangs out

For example, if you wrote about AI content detection tools:

  • First share: "Just published: 5 AI detection tools put to the test [LINK]"

  • Second share: "Surprising finding: Tool X flagged human writing as AI 38% of the time [LINK]"

  • Third share: "Question for writers: Have you ever had your human-written content flagged as AI-generated? Just discovered why that happens [LINK]"

This creates a "triple spike" pattern that seems to trigger faster crawling. Not sure exactly why this works, but I've tested it across multiple domains and seen indexing speed boost by nearly 40%.

We’ve published content on Penfriend, and I’ve seen it in Co-Pilot, and then ChatGPT search that same day.
I'm curious - have you tried any of these? Hit reply and let me know what's working (or not working) for your content. I'd love to compare notes.

Until next time,
