Why are we STILL copy-pasting like it's 2007?
The editor is broken. So I'm building the one I wish existed. Help me make it yours.

Day 111/100 (Good number)
Hey—It's Tim.
Let’s talk about the thing that’s been chewing away at me since day one of Penfriend:
The editor.
More specifically…
why every online writer is still stuck copy-pasting like it’s 2007.
We built Penfriend to help content marketers create better, faster, smarter.
And yet…
Every time someone uses it, they end up doing the same thing:
Run it through Penny → copy → paste into Google Docs → fiddle with it → paste into WordPress → cry
Honestly?
I’m sick of it.
And I know I’m not alone — because when I ran that feedback poll a few weeks ago, the #1 thing that came up was:
“Why can’t you write and then I edit inside Penfriend?”
Fair.
So I’m doing something about it.
I want to build the editor for online writers
Not just an AI tool.
Not just a content generator.
A place where you can:
Use Penfriend to write like a human at scale
Edit like a pro, with Penny as your guide
Collaborate like you’re in a Google Doc
Talk to your knowledge base, product goals, expert interviews etc
Publish like you’re in WordPress
— without leaving the damn tab.
Big ask?
Maybe.
But I’m tired of splitting the writing process across five tools, three tabs, and one slowly dying brain cell.
There’s a lot more to do
But for now, with the VIBES check. And getting it to score against my own personal ECHO. It’s amazing.
The comments on the left are getting there. The goal I have is this is your editor. Penny wants you to write the best. And will tell you the GOOD and the things to improve.
With what we’re working on for before the content, and this for after you have the content. I know we can make the content marketers best friend.

One of my favourite things is having it be happy when you write :D
I want your feedback
This is build in public done properly.
I don’t want polite applause. I want direction.
What editor do you use now?
What drives you nuts about it?
What would actually make you switch?

Send me a screenshot with 14 angry arrows drawn on it.
I’ll take it all.
If I’m building something that’s supposed to replace your Google Docs tab…
I want you in the room for it.
Let’s make something better.

Same brain, different platforms: X, Threads, LinkedIn.
P.S. If this editor doesn’t end up replacing Google Docs, I’ll eat a Clippy plushie live on camera. Don’t test me.

Made by content marketers. Used by better ones.
