How many tabs do you have open right now?
I'll show you mine if you show me yours...

Day 250/100
Hey—It's Tim.
Quick question, how many browser tabs do you have open right now?
I’ve got 247
Before you judge: I use Vivaldi, so they're organized into 15 workspaces. Which sounds like I'm on top of my shit.
I'm not.

166 are "active." 81 are "inactive" (which is Vivaldi's polite way of saying "you haven't looked at these in weeks but you're too scared to close them").
Feel free to go back to judging…
Here's what I've noticed:
0-5 tabs: You're disciplined. Scary disciplined. Either incredibly focused or you just discovered the internet yesterday.
6-15 tabs: Sweet spot. You're working on something but you're not drowning yet.
16-30 tabs: Getting spicy. You've got three projects going and you're convinced you'll get to all of them today. (You won't.)
31-50 tabs: Controlled chaos. Every tab is "important." None of them get closed because "what if I need that later?"
51-100 tabs: You've discovered tab groups or workspaces, or worse, multiple windows...
You think this makes you organized. It doesn't. You're just hiding the mess better.
101+: This is me. You've given up on digital hygiene entirely. You have tabs from research you did in July. Some of them are probably 404 errors by now. You don't care.
Here's the thing about us content people though:
I've been thinking about this. Tab count isn't about organization or chaos.
It's about potential energy.
Stick with me for a second. Let me cook.
Each tab represents a version of you that was curious enough to click. A path you might take. A thing you might learn. A project you might start.
Closing tabs isn't productivity - it's decision-making. It's choosing which version of yourself you're committing to right now.
And maybe I'm not ready to make that decision yet.
Maybe those 247 tabs are just future me's options, and keeping them open is the most honest thing I can do.
Or maybe I just need to admit I have a problem.
(It's definitely the second one.)
So: How many tabs you got open?
Hit reply. Let's compare chaos levels.
If you reply with under 10, I’m call the police. You are too powerful…
See you tomorrow.

Same brain, different platforms: X, Threads, LinkedIn.
P.S. Just realized: RAM usage is just your computer's way of telling you to make a decision. Mine's at 96%. I'm ignoring it. This is fine.
